Gawuna Career

Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna began his career as a Civil Servant at the Kano State Ministry of Works, Housing and Transport before he became a consultant for various companies both in the private and public sectors. He also worked with Gawuna Construction Company Limited as a Director.

Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna ventured into politics in 2003 when he was elected to the Kano State House of Assembly as a representative of Dawakin Tofa Constituency under the platform of the All Progressive Congress. He was later appointed as the Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources in Kano State in 2011.

In 2015, Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna was appointed as the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs. He was elected as the Deputy Governor of Kano State on the platform of the APC where he worked alongside Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje in 2019.
