Festus Osifo Biography

Festus OSIFO is the President of PENGASSAN. He assumed this position on the 28th day of August 2020 when he was elected as the 16th President of the Association. Before his ascension to the Association’s President, his passion for humanity and dignity of labor made him served in different capacity from student movement to organized labor. He was a Branch PRO of Total E&P between June 2012 and June 2015, Branch Chairman, Total E&P branch of PENGASSAN from June 2015 to June 2018 and PENGASSAN Producers Forum Chairman from May 2016 to April 2018.

Comrade Festus Osifo was born over 4 decades ago in the ancient city of Benin – Edo State
He obtained his West Africa Examination Certificate from Immaculate Conception College, Benin City. This was after he completed his Primary Education in Iyobosa Primary School also in Benin City.

He thereafter proceeded to Yaba college of Technology for his Ordinary National Diploma in Mechanical engineering and later obtained his Higher National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from Petroleum Training Institute (PTI) with Distinction and also emerged as the overall best graduating student in his set.

He then proceeded to University of Portsmouth, in Portsmouth, United Kingdom where he bagged a first-class honors degree in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering.

Comrade Engr. Festus OSIFO is a distinguished alumnus of the prestigious Herriot Watt University in Edinburgh, United Kingdom where he obtained a master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering.

Comrade OSIFO’s quest for continuous learning, made him enroll in Executive Masers in Business Administration (MBA) in Lagos Business School and he will be graduating by the end of the year.

Comrade OSIFO, the scholastic President of PENGASSAN has over 16 years illustrious career in the Oil and Gas industry both in Schlumberger Nigeria Ltd. and TotalEnergies Exploration and Production Nigeria Ltd.

Comrade OSIFO is a member of the Nigeria Society of Engineers (NSE), A member of Council of Registered Engineers of Nigeria (COREN) and a member of Society for Petroleum Engineers (SPE).

Comrade Festus OSIFO is the founder of Save our Children Education Initiative SOCEI), a board member of HEIWA Africa, a board member of Petroleum Product Pricing and Regulatory Agency (PPPRA), a board member of Nigeria Extractive Industry Transparency Initiative (NEITI), a board member of Total E&P Closed Pension Fund Administrator (April 2019 to April 2021).
